I feel I've finally turned a corner in my research. My mentor finally got back from vacation, and we discussed the work I have done over the past month. It was a huge difference because last summer, when he left, I became totally stuck after about two weeks. This summer, I kept up the momentum, consulted with others, and found the right resources to continue.
Anyway, I argued my point (no, the simulation was not converging because there was missing information in the original model formulation - as suggested by a different professor) - and I was really happy that I stuck to my position and convinced my mentor. I am starting to feel a little more confident in the research, so that is very encouraging.
Just need to keep on chugging away at this project!
